AI Document Generator: 15 Business Documents an Agent Drafts Free, From Quotes to Policies

How an AI document generator works for a UK small business in 2026: fifteen documents an agent drafts from your facts, from quotes, invoices and terms to privacy notices, written statements, health and safety policies, contracts and late payment letters, the UK rule behind each, the prompts, template prices, and which need a solicitor.

AI Document Generator: 15 Business Documents an Agent Drafts Free, From Quotes to Policies
Read in:

The new starter begins on Monday and needs a written statement of employment on her first day, which is the law since April 2020 and which you have never written. The council wants your health and safety policy in writing before you quote. A customer asks for your terms and conditions and you realise there is a paragraph on the website that a friend wrote in 2019. A template site will sell you each of these for £34.99 a month, in a format designed for someone else's business, and you will still have to fill in the gaps.

An AI document generator in 2026 means something different from a template with blanks: an agent that knows the UK rule for each document, asks for the six facts it needs, drafts the document in plain English, and keeps it so the next one is a sentence. This guide lists the fifteen documents a small business actually needs, the rule behind each (with the 2026 changes), the prompts that produce the first four, what the template services charge, and the short list of documents that still belong with a solicitor.

Need one today? Open Jobbit, say which document and paste the facts, and the agent drafts it with the current UK rules built in. Free plan, 100 credits a day, no card.

Four prompts that produce the first four

The quote and the terms that travel with it

Message to send

Draft a quote for a customer. Business: Carter Plumbing, sole trader, not VAT registered. Customer: Mrs Patel, 14 Elm Road, Reading. Work: replace bathroom basin taps and fix the leaking waste, parts and labour, one visit. Price: £180 fixed. Exclusions: tiling and any pipework behind the wall. Deposit: none. Valid for 30 days. Add the short consumer terms that must go with a quote agreed at a customer's home: the 14-day cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, what happens if the customer asks us to start within 14 days, payment on completion, and how to complain. Plain English, one page, as a PDF and an editable file.

The privacy notice for your website form

Message to send

Write a privacy notice for a small UK business website with an enquiry form that collects name, phone, email and a message, and uses basic analytics. We keep enquiries for 12 months and customer records for 6 years for tax. We do not sell data. Cover who we are and how to contact us, what we collect and why, the lawful basis for each, how long we keep it, who we share it with, the person's rights under UK GDPR and how to complain to the ICO. Plain English, under 600 words.

The written statement for a new starter

Message to send

Draft a written statement of employment particulars for a new part-time employee starting on 2 November 2026 as a shop assistant at Bloom Florist, Reading. Pay £12.71 an hour, paid monthly on the last working day; 20 hours a week, Tuesday to Saturday, 10 am to 2 pm; 28 days' holiday pro rata; place of work the shop; permanent; 3-month probation; no benefits beyond statutory; statutory sick pay from the first day of sickness; one week's notice each way in the first two years. Include everything the Employment Rights Act requires on day one and a note of what can follow within two months, in plain English.

The late payment letter

Message to send

Write a sequence of three letters for an unpaid invoice of £1,450 dated 1 September 2026, due 1 October 2026, from a limited company customer. Letter 1 is a polite reminder a week after the due date. Letter 2, two weeks later, states that statutory interest at 8% above the Bank of England base rate and the £70 fixed sum under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts legislation will be added, with the figures to date. Letter 3 is a letter before action giving 14 days. Firm, professional, no threats.

What changed in 2026, and the documents that need updating

The Employment Rights Act 2025 is arriving in stages, and each stage touches a document. Statutory sick pay has been payable from the first day of sickness since 6 April 2026, with no lower earnings limit, so sickness policies and written statements that still say "from the fourth day" are wrong. From 1 October 2026 the time limit for tribunal claims is six months. From 30 October 2026 employers must take all reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment, including by third parties, which means a written policy and training record. From January 2027 workers must be told of their right to join a union, fire-and-rehire protections arrive, and the qualifying period for unfair dismissal falls from two years to six months, which changes how probation and dismissal procedures are written. An agent that drafts your written statement in October 2026 should know all of that; ask it to date-stamp the rules it applied.

What the template services charge

Rocket Lawyer UK charges £34.99 a month after a seven-day trial for unlimited documents from its library, with a lawyer's review from £120. Lawpack sells individual kits from about £17.99 to £24.99, mostly wills and tenancy. The documents are decent and generic; the work of fitting them to your business is yours. The agent on Jobbit drafts from your facts on the free plan's 100 credits a day, and keeps the documents in a project so the second quote, invoice or contract is a sentence.

Which documents still need a solicitor

  • A lease or licence for premises. The Law Society's guidance lists it first, for good reason.
  • Shareholder, partnership or investment agreements. Anything that decides who owns what.
  • Employment matters once there is a dispute, a dismissal, a redundancy or anything unusual in the contract.
  • High-value or intellectual-property-heavy contracts, where a clause is worth more than the fee.
  • Selling the business, including the confidentiality agreements around it.

The pattern: an agent drafts, and a solicitor reviews the ones where being wrong is expensive. A one-hour review of an agent-drafted contract costs a fraction of drafting from scratch.

How an AI agent differs from a template site

ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, Manus and Meta's Muse will all draft a document if you paste the facts. Jobbit adds the parts a business needs around the draft:

  • It keeps your facts: trading name, address, VAT status, bank details, policies, in a project, so every document starts correct.
  • It returns files: PDF and editable versions, with your logo.
  • It numbers and tracks quotes and invoices and chases the late ones.
  • It builds the forms the documents refer to (the enquiry form the privacy notice covers, the complaints form the terms mention) and hosts them on your site.
  • It updates on a date: "re-issue the sickness policy for the April 2026 rules" is one sentence.
  • It hands off to a person from the network when a document needs a solicitor's review, briefed and paid through the same place.

A one-week plan

  • Monday. Give the agent your business facts once. Get the quote template and the invoice template.
  • Tuesday. The privacy notice and the consumer terms, published on the site.
  • Wednesday. The written statement and the three essential policies, dated for the 2026 rules.
  • Thursday. The health and safety policy, the risk assessments for your main jobs, and the fire risk assessment write-up.
  • Friday. The services agreement, the NDA and the late payment sequence, filed for when you need them.

Draft the first document on the free plan: 100 credits a day, no card, your facts kept for the next one.

Frequently asked questions

Can AI write legal documents for my business?

It can draft the everyday ones (quotes, invoices, terms, privacy notices, written statements, policies, services agreements, NDAs, late payment letters) from your facts and the current UK rules, and an agent on Jobbit keeps them for the next time. Leases, shareholder agreements, disputes and high-value contracts should still be reviewed by a solicitor.

What documents does a new employee need on day one?

A written statement of employment particulars on or before the first day, covering names, job, start date, pay, hours, holiday, place of work, duration, probation, benefits and compulsory training, with sick pay and notice periods too, under the Employment Rights Act 1996 since April 2020. Pensions, disciplinary and grievance details can follow within two months.

Do I need a written health and safety policy?

Yes once you have five or more employees, according to the HSE, and your risk assessments must be recorded at the same threshold. A written fire risk assessment has been required for every business premises, regardless of size, since 1 October 2023.

Is a privacy notice required for a small business website?

Yes if you collect any personal data, including through an enquiry form or analytics. UK GDPR requires you to tell people who you are, what you collect, why, your lawful basis, how long you keep it and their rights, and most businesses also pay the ICO's data protection fee (£52 a year for up to 10 staff).

How much interest can I charge on a late invoice?

Statutory interest at 8% above the Bank of England base rate for business-to-business debts (11.75% for interest starting in the second half of 2026, with base rate at 3.75%), plus a fixed sum of £40 for debts under £1,000, £70 up to £9,999.99 and £100 from £10,000, under the late payment legislation on GOV.UK.

Are AI-drafted contracts legally binding?

A contract is binding when there is offer, acceptance, consideration and an intention to create legal relations, whoever drafted it; it does not have to be written by a lawyer. The risk is a clause that does not fit your situation, which is why high-value or unusual agreements get a solicitor's review.

What is the best AI document generator for a small business?

One that drafts from your facts with the UK rules built in, returns editable files, keeps your details for next time and connects the document to the form or invoice it refers to. The assistants draft well; the agent on Jobbit drafts, files, tracks and updates from one chat on the free plan.
